Cleanliness is next to godliness. This adage may sound preachy but we can never be too careful especially if we have kids around us. Being careful with our kid’s health is always a top priority. Aside from giving them healthy foods to sustain good nourishment, we must always see to it that they are growing up in a clean environment. A clean environment does not only mean providing them with a safe shelter, we must also consider that at a young age, kids tend to play with almost everything they could hold with their hands at every nook and corner of your house. For example, after playing hide and seek outside your house, your girl would go to her savannah dollhouse without washing her hands, hence spreading dirt and grime to her toys. This will not only spread dirt but also germs and virus which may cause diseases to your kids.
Here are some few tips in order to maintain cleanliness at home:
1. Make sure that you clean your house daily by dusting and wiping off the dirt not only at your real home but also your kid’s dollhouse furniture as well. Arrange your furniture and also your kid’s things properly and neatly. Spray cleaning aerosols that are not toxic. This way accidents and spread of germs may be prevented.
2. Make sure that you bring your trashes outside the house everyday. Avoid stocking food left-over, vegetable peels and even water containers that may be the living area of mosquitoes and other insects. Check if your kid’s favorite play corner such as her dollhouse kits for foods or water that were left behind after playing.
3. Have a general cleaning at least every month or as often as you can. Thorough cleaning should be done at your whole house by changing the sheets and curtains, spraying insecticides, cleaning your kitchen and garden and other things. Include your kid’s playground and dollhouse accesories.
4. Of course, make sure that your kids are taking a bath everyday especially after playing. Teach them to wash their hands before eating or after playing with their toys or doing some activities. Teach them not to put into their mouth their hands and their toys where germs could enter their body. Impart the value of cleanliness and the harm of being unclean. Teaching them the importance of always being clean is the best defense. Explain that germs and bacteria are everywhere, even within their dollhouse, hence, they should be looking after themselves also and be responsible.
Remember that your kid’s health and well-being is the most important thing to remember during their growing years. As a parent, we must always remember that it is our responsibility to see that they are safe and sound especially at our own house. Maintaining cleanliness is easy if we do it and keep it in mind always. Cleanliness at our home benefits not only our kids but our selves as well.
