6 Tips on decorating a dollhouse

Decorating a dollhouse can be a very fun and exciting activity. It can also be fulfilling because after decorating, the fruit of a very beautiful and well-decorated dollhouse can be such a sight to behold.

Dollhouse decorating may seem like a simple task but that is not always the case, it involves much creativity and patience because you will be working on a miniature house, some parts and pieces of which are very tiny.

Here are some tips on how you can best enjoy decorating a dollhouse:

  • Identify first the type of dollhouse you want. Popular types of dollhouses include the Tudor dollhouses, Victorian Doll house, Georgian Dollhouses, and the Wooden Dollhouses.

  • Determine what size of dollhouse you want. Do want a small dollhouse with smaller dollhouse furniture pieces? Or do you want a bigger dollhouse? Decide also on the color and style of the house.

  • Decide in which wood would suit your dollhouse and Miniature Dollhouse Furniture. Common wood types ad plywood and MDF. I highly recommend MDF because they are thicker, can be sturdier, and allow smoother paint finish.

  • Know how you want to set up a dollhouse. Do you want to create from a kit or start from scratch and simply follow a dollhouse plan?

  • Decide on whether your dollhouse will have a front or back opening like the KidKraft Veranda Swivel Dollhouse. This is crucial because little girls differ in their choice and on how they want to access the dollhouse while rearranging the Modern Dollhouse Furniture.

  • You may add decoration pieces to the dollhouse kit. You can make your own or improvise because additional Dollhouse Furniture Kits can be expensive. You may add a small flower arrangement by using small plastic flowers. Add little lamps by using toothpaste caps. Cut out pictures from magazine and hang on the dollhouse’s walls. Change the cushions of the beds by using a handkerchief or smaller piece of cloth with pretty prints. You may also use toy blocks to serve as added dollhouse furniture pieces such as table and chairs or cars to serve as vehicles.
