Summer has
just started, and all you can ever think of is basking in
the sun and getting that much-needed tan that you have ever
wanted all year long, having taken the whole week off to spend
summer on a secluded beach. Not to mention sipping on a refreshing
margarita and not having to think about work. But then you
suddenly get the impulse of jotting some things down that
you want to get a loved one for Christmas. Don't you think
you are being too early doing this? No, we don't think so.
We think this may even be wise.
So why not pick things up while you are on your vacation?
Stroll around and poke around shops (you may not know this,
but novelty shops are great treasure troves for perfect gifts
too); you may see a wooden
dollhouse that a favorite niece just might love or a beaded
sling bag that your younger sister might be delighted to have.
You may notice that most of the gifts best remembered by people
are those that have been given to them while the giver was
on a trip. If you have received such a gift, weren't you flattered
upon receiving it to know that the person actually thought
of you while on that trip? Of course you were. And now it's
your turn doing the same thing to the same person or to your
loved ones too.
Buying such gifts from an unknown corner of the world is not
only thoughtful but makes the gift sort of unique too. Remember,
chances are the gifts you have brought along from this trip
cannot be found in your ordinary shop or boutique, like the
unique dollhouse
so intricately made by hand.
Of course, it is up to you whether or not you should let the
gifts wait until Christmas. But point is, preparing a Christmas
list is definitely not early. As you may have noticed, the
times have already gone by so fast what with all the time
that work demands. Most of us have not even been aware when
the year 2007 abruptly ended, right? And now we're well on
our way to ending the year 2008 too. But not after Christmas
pokes around the corner and letting us be frantic with all
the holiday rush and festivities. Especially when it comes
to shopping for gifts where most of the malls and shops are
filled with people milling around, looking for the same things
and, of course unknowingly, ending up with the same things
too, like your daughter's having the same dollhouses
that her playmate has.
If one was ready to meet the holidays fever head-on because
the Christmas list has already been done, then one can only
lie back and look forward to meeting a quiet and intimate
holidays with the family.
